About the event:

A special invitation to all high school learners and their parents who are interested in pursuing design-related careers. Connect with some of the top design tertiary schools in the Western Cape who will be offering engaging design-related workshops throughout the day.

All workshops are free, but spaces are limited. Book today to avoid disappointment.

Screen printing workshop.
This workshop will introduce you to the world of print making by offering you insights into the art of screen printing. Participants guided by professional instructors will get a chance to get their hands dirty and print their own creative t-shirts that they can take home as a souvenir of a journey in the world of print design.

3D Product Design workshop
A pre-design die-line will be available for you to decorate with creative tools. Once your unique design is completed, you will cut, fold and assemble your final product.

Product Design Solutions
Inscape’s workshop will focus on innovative product design solutions from waste material. Through the ‘Inscape lab’ (workshop), innovation will be brought to
the man on the street and everyday waste material will be used to create powerful solutions to solve todays problems. The workshop will focus on promoting and empowering unique thinkers of all ages by providing collaborative spaces to develop and resolve practical design solutions

Jewellery Design Workshop
CPUT Jewellery Design Programme will be running a fun interactive design and manufacture workshop where learners will have the chance to create a unique piece of handmade jewellery. They will be exposed to some of the basic processes which are taught in the programme to give them a feel and understanding of what Jewellery Design and Manufacture is all about.

The programme in its 25 year history has been in the forefront of design excellence and integration of new technologies. With world class facilities you can be assured of getting the best exposure to the realm of jewellery design and manufacture. You also do not have to limit yourself with a National diploma as further study is possible with Advanced and Post Graduate diplomas from 2018. Some of the career opportunities are as Jewellery designer, Goldsmith, Academic researcher, Teacher, Lecturer, Jewellery workshop/studio manager, Jewellery buyer for retail stores, Retail jewellery sales representative, Evaluator or Entrepreneur.

DJ workshop!
Basic introduction to DJing. Find out what DJing is about, history, technique, forms of DJing and how to take up DJing as a full time career. Workshop will be limited to 10 people and will feature lecture based demonstrations as well as technical demonstrations using controllers, CDJ’s and Vinyl.
